The intricate network of veins, muscles, and tendons depicted in Michelangelo's frescoes on the Sistine Chapel ceiling indeed bears a striking resemblance to the structure of the human brain

One theory suggests that Michelangelo, having studied anatomy during his apprenticeship, was inspired by the intricate structure of the brain to represent the vastness and complexity of the cosmos. The dynamic and interconnected forms within the frescoes could be seen as mirroring the intricate neural networks that govern our thoughts, emotions, and sensory perceptions.
