A Journey to Rome's Enchanting Trevi Fountain (YouTube link)
Conceived by Italian architect Nicola Salvi, the Trevi Fountain ⭐took over thirty years to complete, a testament to the meticulous craftsmanship and artistry that went into its creation. Its imposing size, measuring nearly 26 meters (86 ft) in height and 49 meters (161 ft) in width, immediately commands attention.
The fountain's central niche proudly displays the majestic figure of Oceanus, the Roman god of the sea, riding a shell-shaped chariot drawn by two seahorses. Surrounding Oceanus are allegorical figures representing Abundance, Health, and Glory, each adding to the fountain's grandeur and symbolism.
A Tradition of Wishing
A visit to the Trevi Fountain is incomplete without indulging in the time-honored tradition of coin tossing. Legend has it that tossing a coin over your left shoulder while facing the fountain ensures your return to Rome. It's also said that if you throw two coins, you will find love in Rome. And if you throw three coins, you will get married in Rome.
