Mount Elephant, also known as Xiangshan in Chinese, is a popular hiking destination in Taipei, Taiwan. Located in the Xinyi District, it offers stunning panoramic views of the city, including the iconic Taipei 101 skyscraper.


Hiking Mount Elephant: Official Routes to the Peak


There are two main official trails leading to the peak of Mount Elephant:

  • Xiangshan Trail: This is the most popular and well-maintained trail, consisting of stairs and paved paths.
  • Six Giant Rocks Trail: This trail is shorter and steeper, offering more challenging terrain and scenic views of the rock formations.
While there are two main trails, you might encounter slight variations within them depending on which entrance you choose or if you take any small detours to explore other viewpoints.
