Covid-19 — When will this pandemic be over?

In the below DW video Q&A session, the following questions were asked:

  • When will this pandemic be over?
  • Is there a chance a vaccine could cause the virus to grow more deadly?
    • A new Covid strain may have spread virus in south of England.  While variant seems to spread more quickly, it does not appear to be more dangerous. (theguardian.com 12/14/2020)
  • Can you get Covid-19 from an open wound or cut?

Although the video was recorded early in July, 2020.  But, the answers are still sound and good.  As of today (12/24/2020), both Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines have started being distributed.  With a glimpse of light at the end of tunnel, here we want to remind people that:
As each country starts to roll out their vaccination program, we must do our bit to reduce the virus population, replication and potential mutations. Our vaccinations will build immunity, but we need to avoid crowds and follow national guidelines on wearing a mask, washing hands and social distancing,” said François Paillier from CircaGene.
