The Miyagawa Morning Markets extended along the banks of the Miyagawa River. Arriving in the early hours of an April morning, I found the market just awakening, with a few people casually perusing the stalls. As the morning progressed, however, the market exploded with activity, becoming a vibrant center filled with tourists enthusiastically exploring the colorful merchandise.

Hida Kokubunji Temple

On my way to the bustling Miyagawa Morning Markets, I unexpectedly discovered the serene Hida Kokubunji Temple. Hidden amidst the city’s clamor, this small, ancient place of worship boasted a solemn row of Buddha statues and a towering ginkgo tree, both silent witnesses to the passage of time.
