Switzerland Travel―3 Day Travel Itinerary in Lucerne
it shows you that, to really appreciate Lucerne's beauty, you probably need to spend at least three days in Lucerne and its surrounding mountains (e.g.
Mt Rigi and
Mt Pilatus).

On 06/27/2019, a hot summer day, we have taken a similar travel itinerary:
Lucerne → Burgenstock⭐⭐ → Alpnachstad → Pilatus → Kriens
to visit
Mt Pilatus, below are photos taken during
Mr. Pilatus side trip from Lucerne. Note that we didn't finish the train ride from
Alpnachstad to
Pilatus and cable car down to Kriens because we were told that we could have only 20 minutes left at the Pilatus summit before we need to take the last cable car down. Instead, we have decided to take the original boat back to Lucerne. The lesson learned here is that to achieve the said travel itinerary you need to start either earlier in the day or you don't spend too much time at
Burgenstock as we have done. However, we don't regret to spend time at
Burgenstock because its views were awesome and most of the trail covered was in the woods (or in the shades), which is quite welcome for a hike in a hot summer day.
