Girona Day Trip from Barcelona: A Medieval Escape

Girona, a small city located about 99 km (62 mi) north of Barcelona, is the capital of the Girona province and the Costa Brava region. It's a city rich in ancient history, vibrant architecture, and world-class cuisine. You can explore the old city walls, visit the ancient Roman-Arabic style baths, discover the vast Girona Cathedral, and wander through the tiny alleyways of the Jewish Quarter.

Because much of its old quarter has been preserved, Girona is a popular tourist destination and has even been used as a filming location. You might recognize parts of Girona, even if you've never been there before, as scenes from season six of Game of Thrones were filmed here.
