Girona Day Trip from Barcelona: A Medieval Escape

Image
Girona , a small city located about 99 km (62 mi) north of  Barcelona , is the capital of the Girona province and the  Costa Brava  region. It's a city rich in ancient history, vibrant architecture, and world-class cuisine. Because much of its old quarter has been preserved,  Girona  is a popular tourist destination and has even been used as a filming location. You might recognize parts of  Girona , even if you've never been there before, as scenes from season six of  Game of Thrones  were filmed here. 25 Most Beautiful Medieval Towns of Europe (YouTube link ) Photo Gallery On December 20, 2019, we took a  full-day tour  from  Barcelona  to visit  Girona  and  Costa Brava , provided by  Explore Catalunya .
