Padrão dos Descobrimentos (i.e., Monument of the Discoveries ⭐) is a monument on the northern bank of the Tagus river estuary. Located along the river where ships departed to explore and trade with India and the Orient, the monument celebrates the Portuguese Age of Discovery (or "Age of Exploration") during the 15th and 16th centuries.

On January 3rd and 4th, 2023, both sunny days, I took these photos while on a boat ride and walking from the Jerónimos Monastery to the Belém Tower. However, I did not purchase the €10 ticket for the Padrão dos Descobrimentos, which grants access to the exhibition, viewpoint, and film.
