From November 22 to December 11, 2024, the historic Sannomaru Square at Himeji Castle ⭐⭐underwent a breathtaking transformation. It became the radiant stage for "Kyouka Suigetsu" (鏡花水月), a festival aptly named "Elegant Night Under the Castle." This mesmerizing light-up event wasn't just a dazzling display; it was a grand commemoration of a significant milestone: the castle's 30th anniversary as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Under the poignant theme, "Castle History Connected by Light," visitors were transported into a realm where the ancient stones of Himeji Castle seemed to breathe with a new, luminous life. Centuries of heritage, whispers of samurai, and echoes of imperial grandeur converged with the vibrant glow of modern artistry. Each beam, each hue, was meticulously designed to weave a narrative, connecting the castle's storied past to its illuminated present.
