A Peaceful Escape in Morcote: Visiting Chiesa di Santa Maria del Sasso

Chiesa di Santa Maria del Sasso is a Roman Catholic church located on a hill overlooking the village of Morcote, in the Swiss canton of Ticino. The church is a popular pilgrimage site and is known for its beautiful views of Lake Lugano.

On a sunny October day, we enjoyed a bus ride from Lugano to Morcote. Our first stop was Parco Scherrer, followed by a visit to the beautiful Chiesa di Santa Maria del Sasso. With few visitors around, we were able to take in the serene views of Lake Lugano and appreciate the climb to the church.
