Naples, Italy: A Stroll through the Neighborhood of San Francesco di Paola

San Francesco di Paola

San Francesco di Paola is a prominent church located to the west in Piazza del Plebiscito, the main square of Naples, Italy. It is a beautiful example of neoclassical architecture, and it is dedicated to Saint Francis of Paola, a 15th-century Italian monk and hermit.

On October 18, 2023, on a cloudy day, our group had the pleasure of visiting the charming neighborhood of San Francesco di Paola in Naples. We spent a couple of hours exploring the narrow streets, lively piazzas, and traditional shops and restaurants.

On the next day of our trip to Naples, we were supposed to take a ferry boat to Capri. However, the weather was windy and rainy, and the ferry service was suspended. This is a reminder that even during the shoulder season, the weather on the Amalfi Coast can be unpredictable. If you are planning to visit Capri or the Amalfi Coast during this time of year, be sure to have a backup plan in case of bad weather.
