Turkey Travel—Riding Hot Air Balloon in Cappadocia
Lots of balloons ready to lift off on the ground ⭐⭐⭐
"🎈You’re in Cappadocia, Turkey… on a sunrise hot air balloon ride over spectacular valleys of fairy chimneys. Sounds like bucket-list travel at its best, or is?"[3]
In our tour group, people had made 3 different decisions regarding the hot air balloon riding experience:
Some chose to ride the balloon
Some chose to join the Jeep ride which tracks the balloons from the ground
Some not joining any of the above
It turned out that only 6 persons decided to ride the balloon from our tour group, which was the minority. But, is it worth it? As Sharon said it well in [3]:
..., a hot air balloon flight is extremely special, and if you are lucky enough to experience it just once in your life then you should. IF that once coincides with a trip to Cappadocia then I say don’t think twice… go for it!

The below photos were taken on 03/26/2023, a sunny day with amazing sun rise. They are shown in the chronological order from top to bottom.
Note that whether balloon can fly or not on any specific day totally depending on the weather condition and cancellation of the ride happened before.
On the day of balloon riding, we need to get up before 5 am in the hotel and took a van towards the launching site in total darkness. A simple sandwich was offered in the van and we waited in the van for around 30 minutes while workers prepared the balloon for the inflation.
