Granada ⭐⭐⭐is the place to come if you want to see what remains of the Moorish occupation of the Iberian peninsula. This city, capital of Granada province located in the region of Andalusia, saw the fall of the Moors in 1492, following over seven centuries of Muslim rule in Spain. Two grand palaces – the Alhambra and the Generalife – are relics of the Moors in Granada.
Granada is located at the foot of the Sierra Nevada mountains. Nearby is the Sierra Nevada Ski Station, where the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 1996 were held. It sits at an average elevation of 738 m (2,421 ft) above sea level, yet it is only one hour by car from the Mediterranean coast, the Costa Tropical.

On the Christmas Eve of 2019, we have visited Alhambra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, in Granada from Valencia. Leaving in the morning, we have arrived Alhambra around 14:00 h. On the way, we have seen the snow-capped Sierra Nevada mountains and beautiful rolling hills. On 12/24/2019, it was a sunny day with the temperature around 17°C.

Most mosques feature a dome, called qubba in Arabic. The dome is a symbolic representation of the vault of heaven. The interior decoration of a dome often emphasizes this symbolism using patterns to awe and inspire.[5]
